The upcoming Hyundai Verna 2017 has been spotted testing once again by IAB reader Amod Ganachari. The third generation Verna will be identical to the Hyundai Accent that was unveiled in Canada in February 2017 and the 2017 Hyundai Solaris on sale in Russia.
As was the case with previous spy shots of the car, the test mule spotted was wearing heavy camouflage and carried red test plates. These spy images reveal features like chrome applique on the window sill and a shark fin antenna. The ORVMs get integrated turn indicators.
The exterior design of the upcoming 2017 Hyundai Verna is based on the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Signature design features such as a large single piece cascading grille design, split tail lamps with intricate LED detailing and LED DRLs will be present. It has a slight coupe like sloping roofline that flows neatly into the boot lid merging with a ‘kickback’ style spoiler.
The cabin too was heavily camouflaged. However, images of the international spec model reveal a dashboard design similar to the new Elantra and Tucson. The centre console will house the latest version of Hyundai’s 7-inch AVN that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link. Interior of the upcoming Verna will get a dual tone colour theme as evident from the sketch released by Hyundai.
According to certain media reports, Hyundai will launch the new Verna on August 22, 2017. The manufacturer has already released teaser images and videos as part of the pre-launch promotions and confirmed an August rollout. Select dealerships have started accepting bookings for the upcoming model unofficially. Expect the all new Hyundai Verna to launch at a starting price of around INR 8.00 Lakhs (ex showroom Delhi).
