The 2017 Hyundai Verna will reach Indian showrooms next month. Weeks ahead of the market launch, dealerships have started accepting pre-orders for the car.
IAB's sources say that dealerships are unofficially taking reservations for the 2017 Hyundai Verna for a token amount ranging from INR 10,000 to INR 20,000. Last week the company had announced that bookings would open shortly. Hyundai is yet to reveal the car, but we have already seen it in international specifications as the 2017 Hyundai Solaris and 2018 Hyundai Accent. The teaser campaign of the Indian-spec version has already begun.
The next-gen Hyundai Verna should have a body 4,385 mm long, 1,729 mm wide and 1,450 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The current model's engine options are expected to continue with post the life cycle makeover. These include 107 PS 1.4L and 123 PS 1.6L petrol and 90 PS 1.4L and 128 PS 1.6L diesel. The Hyundai Creta's 6-speed automatic transmission may replace the 1.6-litre engine models' 4-speed automatic transmission.
On the outside, the 2017 Hyundai Verna will feature projector headlights, LED DRLs, Cascading grille, 16-inch wheels and LED tail lamps. Interior features should include auto AC, 7-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, keyless entry and push-start button. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and rear view camera should form the core safety features.

The current Hyundai Verna is priced from at INR 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new generation Hyundai Verna could start around INR 8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). HMIL also has big export plans for the India-made all-new Verna.
