Hyundai India has confirmed to IndianAutosBlog that the next generation Hyundai Verna will launch in India in August. According to reports, a launch date (price announcement) is fixed for August 22, although Hyundai says it needs time to confirm the date.
Hyundai dropped the first teaser of their upcoming mid-size sedan as well as put up a microsite live for interested folks to register. Spyshots of pre-production test mules have revealed that the design is based on Hyundai’s latest iteration of the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, being identical to the new Hyundai Solaris and the North American spec 2017 Hyundai Accent. It will measure 4,385 mm in length, 1,729 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height, with its wheelbase spanning 2,580 mm.
Spy shots revealed that the interior will continue with the dual tone beige and black colour combo with a design similar to the Accent. Expect top-end models like the SX and SX (O) to feature a 7-inch touchscreen AVN unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new instrument cluster and multi-info display, chunkier leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control and infotainment buttons, automatic ‘Clean Air’ climate control, rear parking sensors and camera. Dual airbags and ABS should come standard across the range.

Prices, we ascertain, will be slightly higher than the current car, which retails between INR 7.95 lakh to INR 13.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will rival the Maruti Ciaz and the Honda City among other models.
