India-bound 2016 Ford Endeavour (Everest) spotted with Toyota Fortuner - Spied

The 2016 Ford Everest (or Endeavour for India) has been spotted alongside the current-generation Toyota Fortuner, which also happens to be its major rival. The photo, shot in Thailand, was shared by Sahawath Petthong on Autodeft's page.

Similar in size as the 2016 Ford Endeavour, the Toyota Fortuner is soon to be replaced by a new version.

The pre-launch testing of the 2016 Ford Endeavour is going in full swing, with previous appearances being made in Australia and China, both on and off the road. Unveiled last year and then showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the Endeavour is to be manufactured in China and Thailand.

The vehicle is reported to measure 4,882 mm in length, 1,862 mm in width, and 1,836 mm in height, according to a previous leak. It sports a 2,850 mm long wheelbase and has a kerb weight of 2,357 kg. There will be three engine options available for the new Endeavour: a 2-litre 4-cylinder EcoBoost petrol, a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder TDCi diesel, and a 3.2-litre 5-cylinder TDCi diesel.

As for the Fortuner, it's currently available with either a 2.5-litre engine or a more powerful 3-litre unit in India. The next generation Fortuner will be revealed this year, while a market arrival in India is expected next year.
