Next generation Ertiga could borrow cues from new Swift.
Borrowing design cues from the new Suzuki Swift (2017 Maruti Swift), RBA design studio has created a rendering of the next generation Maruti Ertiga - the MPV derivative of the Swift hatchback.
With a Swift-inspired front-end and unique rear-end, the Maruti Ertiga looks more dynamic and contemporary than the current model, which received a facelift last year. The next gen Ertiga will be based on the Swift's lightweight platform, and could weigh under 1,180 kg.
So far, there has been no talk about a next generation Maruti Ertiga since ET Auto's report on the model from September 2015. To summarise, the next gen Ertiga is reported to be codenamed 'YHA', will get a Maruti-developed 1.5L diesel engine, and launch in the festive season of 2017. However, the report was posted more than a year ago, and there haven't been new reports to affirm the claim.

The Indian market will get the next generation Swift Dzire sedan and Swift hatchback in early 2017 and festive season, respectively. Both will be manufactured at Suzuki's new plant in Gujarat, which commences operations in February.
