Original Maruti Swift Dzire to be finally axed.
The first generation Maruti Swift Dzire in India is still on sale in India under the name Maruti Swift Dzire Tour. With the third-gen Maruti Swift Dzire hitting the market next year, the company plans to phase out the original model.
According to a report from Economic Times, Maruti Suzuki will stop selling the Maruti Swift Dzire Tour by March 2017. A source in the know has told the business publication that the Maruti Swift Dzire Tour will be put out of production to make way for the 2017 Maruti Dzire.
The report further says that, as expected, a stripped-down version of the second-gen Maruti Dzire could be launched as a replacement for the Maruti Swift Dzire Tour. Maruti Suzuki sold 3,017 units of the Swift Dzire Tour in the country last month.

The next-gen Maruti Swift Dzire was previously reported as coming in May 2017, indicating an H2 2017 launch for the new generation Maruti Swift hatchback. However, if the all-new Swift Dzire is arriving around March as per the claims of this ET report, the all-new Swift hatchback could hit the market much earlier than that.
