To launch in Japanese showrooms on January 4.
The first walkaround video of the 2017 Suzuki Swift has surfaced from its unveil in Japan yesterday, giving a closer look at the car in the metal. The 4th get Swift will launch in Japan on January 4, and the European-spec Swift will make its motor show debut in Geneva in March.
The Swift will launch with six grades: XL, XG and Hybrid ML, RS, RSt, and Hybrid RS. There are three powertrain options available, such as a 1.2-liter four-cylinder K12C DOHC naturally aspirated engine producing 91 PS and 118 Nm of torque (XL, XG, RS), the same 1.2 petrol engine paired with an ISG electric unit (Hybrid and Hybrid RS) and a new 1.0L Boosterjet three-cylinder DOHC engine with 102 PS and 150 Nm.
The fourth gen Swift measures 3,840 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Swift is 10 mm shorter in overall length, 10 mm shorter in height and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase, but identical width. The exterior design underwent an evolutionary redesign, whilst keeping some of the familiar elements.

As for the Indian market, the 2017 Maruti Swift is reported to arrive in the festive season of 2017. However, its sub-4m sedan sibling - the 2017 Maruti Swift Dzire - is rumoured to arrive in March 2017.
