The Renault Kwid AMT will lack manual shifting modes like the Alto K10 AGS, using a dial integrated into the center console, instead.

Renault India released the first teaser of the Renault Kwid AMT with the motto "Get Ready to Change the Way you Drive", last week, suggesting they were ready for the launch. Dealers IAB got in touch with said deliveries would begin this month, and a booking can be made for INR 25,000. This is Renault's second car with AMT, after the Duster.

The Renault Kwid Automatic will be the most expensive variant of the current CMF-A family. It comes with the 'Shift Control Dial' embedded below the HVAC switches, which will offer three driving modes - Reverse, Neutral and Drive. The in-built 'Crawl' function lets the car move forward and back without throttle input, much like a CVT.

The Kwid's Easy-R AMT unit is a 5-speed gearbox. It will be available only on the Kwid 1.0L, which packs a 999 cc engine that produces 68 PS and 91 Nm. The 5-speed manual variant is capable of averaging 23.01 km/L, and the AMT variant will return the same mileage.
