Renault India has dropped the first teaser of the Renault Kwid AMT with the tagline "Get Ready to Change the Way you Drive", suggesting that its launch is imminent. Reports suggest that it will launch for sale in the second week of November.
The French manufacturer is yet to release details on the Kwid's Easy-R AMT unit, although it’s likely to be a 5-speed unit that will be exclusive to the Kwid 1.0L, which packs a 999 cc engine that produces 68 PS and 91 Nm. With the 5-speed manual option, the Kwid 1.0 is capable of averaging 23.01 km/L.
Unlike the AGS unit in Maruti Alto K10, the Renault Kwid AMT will not have manual shifting modes. The gear selector is a dial located beside the window controls on the center console with the usual selection of gears. It also has a crawl function that helps move forward/reverse slowly without throttle input.

Renault is likely to be equip the Easy-R AMT in the top-end RxT and RxT (O) variants of the Renault Kwid 1.0, which feature a 7 inch MEDIANAV touchscreen display, fabric seat upholstery with red inserts, front power windows and an optional driver’s airbag.
