The Skoda Kodiaq will go on sale in early 2017 and will be followed by the second-gen Skoda Yeti in 2018. Later, an even smaller SUV will be launched, that the media dubs 'Skoda Polar', and speculative renderings created by Remco Meulendijk gives a preview.
The Skoda Polar will be will be an SUV equivalent of the Skoda Fabia and compete with the Seat Arona, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, and the Toyota C-HR. Like the Arona and the future VW Polo-class SUV, the Skoda Polar will be underpinned by the Volkswagen Group's MQB-A0 platform.
Of the three compact crossovers, the Skoda Polar will probably sit in the middle, being more affordable than the Volkswagen, but more expensive than Seat's.

The Skoda Polar will come with three- and four-cylinder TSI petrol and four-cylinder TDI diesel engines with displacements 1.0- to 1.5-litre at launch. These may include the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder engines that reported to debut in the VW Golf facelift next year. Skoda does have 2.0-litre TSI and TDI units also in its portfolio, but that'll probably be reserved for the Kodiaq and next-gen Yeti (in the crossover/SUV range).
