More Skoda models to wear the vRS badge.

The Skoda Kodiaq had its public debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show last week and will go on sale in Europe in early-2017. Months before even the standard variant is available, Skoda is mulling a high-performance vRS variant, as per a report from Auto Express.

According to the report, Skoda is working on vRS high-performance variants of more cars. Speaking to the British publication Skoda R&D chief Christian Strube said that a discussion is already on internally about a Skoda Superb vRS and he would also like to have a Skoda Kodiaq vRS.

Mr. Strube said that the vRS is very successful but the tight CO2 emission norms become a big obstacle in any expansion plans. The company has to reach its average CO2 emissions target of 95 g/km by 2020, and this has to be considered before making decisions for such variants. To make its line-up more efficient, the company will introduce a plug-in hybrid Skoda Kodiaq after the Skoda Superb plug-in hybrid arrives in 2018.
