Tata Nexon spied on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway

A heavily camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Tata Nexon has been spied on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, courtesy CarWale. First introduced as a concept at Auto Expo 2014, the Tata Nexon was unveiled in production form at Auto Expo 2016.

The Tata Nexon will be available with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.

The Tata Nexon will be the third vehicle (after the Tata Tiago and the Tata Hexa) to feature the 'IMPACT' design language, with projector headlamp, LED taillamp and the signature chrome 'Humanity Line' on the grille. The 3,995 mm crossover would also come with the switchable driving modes, Harman infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and 8 speakers, and an electric power steering.

The Tata Nexon has a 200 mm ground clearance, dual path suspension, optional 16-inch alloy wheels, and will be available with 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine choices. A new 6-speed manual transmission will be offered probably alongside a standard 5-speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission.

Detailed specifications will be available only closer to launch, which will happen in the second half of the year. The Tata Nexon is also being considered for South Africa.
