Expected to launch this year before the Kite 5.
The Tata Nexon compact SUV has been caught testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway courtesy of carandbike. The model was unveiled in its production-ready guise at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida last month.
It is reported to hit the market ahead of the Tata Kite 5 sedan. The production-Nexon retains most of the design cues from the Tata Nexon Concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The exterior of the Nexon is characterised by a high stance, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, ceramic side appliqué, LED taillamps and contrast roof. The compact crossover is expected to measure 3,995 mm in length, but announced with 200 mm of ground clearance and rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Nexon would feature two engines - a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine, and an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine. The latter is capable of producing 110 PS and 260 Nm. The car will receive a new six-speed manual transmission as well.
