Features a best-in-class boot of 420 liters.
Ahead of its launch this calendar year, the Tata Kite 5 (codename) compact sedan was caught testing near Pune, Maharashtra, by carandbike. The Kite 5 made its debut in production guise at the Auto Expo 2016, and according to reports and sources, will have its launch in the second half of the calendar year.
It is based on the same platform as the soon-to-launch Tata Tiago, and parts and components are also shared with the hatchback. This includes the interior with a piano-black center console, the Harman entertainment system, the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and the Multi-Drive driving modes.
The Kite 5, like the Tiago, will be powered by three-cylinder petrol and diesel engine. The petrol engine is the all-new all-aluminium 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron unit which develops 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a 1.05-liter three-cylinder Revotorq which puts out 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox on the Tiago.
