Tata Tiago bookings open for INR 11,000 – IAB Report [Update]

Update – Tata Motors has announced that bookings for the Tata Tiago will commence from March 10, 2016. Buyers can make a booking online or at authorized dealerships for an initial amount of INR 10,000.

To be launched on March 28.

Bookings for the Tata Tiago are open and the booking amount is INR 11,000, several dealers told Indian Autos Blog. The hatchback is reported to launch on March 28 and deliveries will commence in a few days after the launch. Some dealerships also have a display car, however customer test drives are yet to begin.

The Tata Tiago will exclusively target the private buyer; the Indica will continue to be sold for fleet operators.

The Tata Tiago will be positioned beneath the Tata Bolt and above the Tata Nano. It will be available with the company’s new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engines. They will have an output of 85 PS/114 Nm and 70 PS/140 Nm respectively. Both motors will be offered with five-speed manual transmissions while an AMT would be introduced at a later stage.

The Tata Tiago will be offered in petrol and diesel versions both powered by new three-cylinder engines.

The Tata Tiago will be manufactured at the company’s Sanand plant (Gujarat) where more than 1,800 units have already been produced.
