Maruti has already imported a couple of Wagon R MPV prototypes for R&D testing. It also falls inline with reports stating that the YJC will be introduced in India, although the launch is mentioned to take place in September 2016. Maruti has already asked its vendors to start supplying parts, and the first mules could start hitting the roads in the near future.

The overall length of the 7-seat Wagon R stands at 3,700 mm, which is 101 mm longer than the regular Wagon R’s 3,599 mm length. Its closest rival, the Datsun Go+, comes in at 3,995 mm in length. The YJC will be positioned beneath the Ertiga, but above the Eeco, which measures 3,675 mm in length.
