Will be launched this financial year.
The Mahindra S101, which could be the Mahindra XUV100 or the Mahindra CUV100, has been spotted testing with lower body camouflage by GaadiWaadi.
The S101/XUV100/CUV100 will be launched in the final part of this year, or if delayed, by the end of this fiscal year, and would be the second all-new sub-4m Mahindra product for the year.
IAB readers who have seen the car testing, say it looks more of a tall hatchback rather than a crossover SUV, with its curvy roofline, tight overhangs, short wheelbase wheelbase, and tiny wheels. Like the Renault Kwid, its SUV-ish character come from its high ground clearance, exaggerate body work and also a high Hip-Point.
IAB reader Timothy's spyshot showed a test mule sporting the company’s distinctive six-tooth grille.
The S101 is built on a new monocoque chassis, the second from the UV major after the XUV500, and would be driven by new petrol and diesel engines displacing 1.2-liters from their three-cylinder blocks, the smallest unit the company has used for its passenger vehicle lineup. Developed in association with Ssangyong, the engines are a part of a new family, and will be paired with manual and AMT transmissions.

Older spyshots have shown the car having a bench seat at the front and the gear lever placed on the dashboard, similar to the Datsun Go.
