Will roll out from the Tapukara plant.
The new 2015 Honda Jazz was spotted at a dealership in India ahead of its launch in July this year (reportedly on July 8, 2015). The model seen here, a petrol with a CVT gearbox, was likely for preview purposes, reports Gaadi.com.
The Indian market Jazz gets a chrome trim for its grille, and a large chrome element for the rear registration plate enclosure. Other features seen on this likely top-end variant include foglights, alloy wheels, turn indicators on the wing mirrors and a rear wiper/washer.
Inside, the highlight features are the automatic transmission with paddle shifters, reported to be borrowed from the Honda City. The dashboard, which is again borrowed from the sedan, sports a Bluetooth-enabled infotainment system and touch-controls for the automatic climate control system.
Coming to the engines, the Jazz for India will be powered by a 1.2-liter petrol or a 1.5-liter diesel unit. The petrol will get CVT and manual transmissions but the diesel will get a manual gearbox only. The variant walk of the new Jazz is expected to be similar to the new City (E, S, V and VX).
The new Jazz will roll out of Honda Cars India’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan with localization level in the region of 90 percent. Prices are expected to be much more competitive than the previous version of the Jazz which was priced over the competition, and came with a petrol engine only.
Rivals: Fiat Punto Evo, VW Polo, Tata Bolt, Maruti Swift, Hyundai Elite i20
Expected Price: INR 5-8 lakhs, ex-Showroom
Launch date in India: July 2015 (confirmed)
