The new Ford Figo (what is sold in Brazil as the new Ford Ka) was spotted on test in Udaipur by an Indian Autos Blog reader. The new Figo, along with a compact sedan based on it, will bolster Ford India’s entry-level products, and would replace the Figo and Classic respectively.
Based on a re-engineered version of the old Fiesta’s platform, the new Figo will be offered with a petrol and diesel engine. The former is expected to be a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit, and the latter will be the 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which is available on the Fiesta and EcoSport.
The new Figo twins will be made at Ford India’s new facility in Sanand, Gujarat. According to reports, the compact sedan will launch first, and the hatchback would follow by September this year.
