Cosmetic revisions with increased functionality should boost sales of the slow selling Nano.
The Tata Nano facelift was spied testing recently by Facebook user Sathya Prasad Bollina. As seen in this image, the prototype shows a latch on the bootlid indicating that this could be the Nano Twist Active with a functional bootlid, which was shown as a pre-production concept at the Delhi Motor Show earlier this year.
The Nano Twist Active combines the power steering feature of the Nano Twist with the convenience of an openable bootlid, a feature which is not present on the small car at the moment. Apart from the bootlid itself, the Nano Twist Active is expected to come with redesigned bumpers with a 'smiling face' at the front, tinted headlight clusters and a refreshed interior.
Interior changes come in the form of a new 3-spoke steering wheel (of similar design seen on the recently launched Zest), wood-like inserts on the center console and center tunnel and new seat fabrics.
Have you read the spec sheet comparo of the Tata Zest vs it's competitors?
Apart from the Twist Active, Tata is also planning on a variant with an automated manual transmission.
The refreshed Nano is expected to go on sale by the end of this year.
