We’ve already brought you enough details on the new Fiat Uno (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 times), but here’s more. The new Fiat Uno will be based on the next-generation Fiat Panda from Europe, but with some changes.

From the images which were shared by Giovane da Silva, we can see that the new headlamps will kind of dig into the bonnet, where the back lights will be based higher up the back of the model, similar to the
Punto.

The back will be straight with a slight curve. The number plate will be housed in the bumper, and the sides on this model will be very similar to that of the Panda. The lack of any curves or complex shapes reduces manufacturing costs, understandable as this is a low-cost car.

Fiat’s new Uno will have a load of styling cues from the new Palio model as well, and we could see a debut, or even a release in December. Rumors are floating around that China will manufacture the new Uno, but we’re more interested in hearing when it’ll arrive in India.

@ Dean – The future is a mystery. In Fiat’s case even their present is. I mean from 2002 to 2009, they’ve turned hero from zero ;)

@ Sameer- Although I’ve never driven the Uno, I’ve heard a lot of stories and sales/service is a different story in 2009. They have the help of Tata and things should be different if they do release the future Uno here under a different name

Great news! I remember the first time I drove the Fiat Uno 1.2 (petrol) back in 2001. What a great little car it was! Terrific ride and handling. A very entertaining little car that even sounded properly Italian… :-)

In recent years, Fiat has launched good some cars in India but they’ve messed up completely when it came to after sales service and spare parts availability. Personally, I quite love the brand (I think the new Linea is really good!) and it would be great if Fiat can make a big comeback with the Uno and the Grande Punto.

The back doesn’t look much like the original Uno at all.. Would be nice to see them recreate that instead :/

Oh well! I guess the future will change a lot of things : – )
