A special edition Yamaha R15 v3.0 has been spotted in Indonesia. The changes, akin to the Yamaha midnight special edition, are done at a dealer level and not from the manufacturer.
The unique Yamaha R15 v3.0 features a jet-black paint job with gold decals. The gold finished wheels add flair to the motorcycle’s sporty demeanour. The changes are only visual, and the motorcycle’s underpinnings remain stock. In July, Yamaha launched the Movistar Livery edition of the R15 v3.0 in Indonesia. It is IDR 600,000 more expensive than the standard variant.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 employs a new 155.1cc SOHC 4-valve VVA engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. The engine is good for 19.3 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine mates with a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch.
An upside down front fork and a rear monoshock suspend the Deltabox frame. It also features an aluminium swingarm, LED headlights and an all-digital instrument cluster with shift light. Hazard lamp is standard as well. For braking, the bike employs a 282 mm front disc and a rear disc. ABS is absent. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with a 100-section at the front and a 140-section tyre at the rear. The fuel tank capacity is 11 litres and the motorcycle weighs 137 kg.
