The production version of the TVS Akula 310, the TVS Apache RR 310S will be launched by mid to late November this year, as reported on Autocar India. TVS had earlier confirmed a rollout within this fiscal year.
The report states that the company has undergone an internal restructuring and has created a new division solely to handle premium motorcycles and export markets. The new branch houses the Apache brand and the upcoming faired motorcycle as well. The new department is headed by Arun Siddharth as Vice President, marketing motorcycles, premium category and international business. Additionally, Siddharth will continue to lead TVS Racing. Aniruddha Haldar is the company’s vice president (marketing) commuter motorcycles, scooters and corporate brand.

The production-ready test-mules of the TVS Akula 310 have been spotted numerous times. Last month, the patent design of the bike was leaked. When launched, the TVS Apache RR 310S will be the company’s most powerful product. The TVS Apache RR 310S is based on the platform of BMW Motorrad’s entry-level naked motorcycle, the G310R.
The German motorcycle employs a 313cc single cylinder, DOHC engine with a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel injected, liquid cooled engine is capable of producing 34 hp of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The same engine will be used in the Apache RR 310S but expect the power delivery to be tuned differently to suit the character of this bike.
The bike gets top-cycle parts like inverted front forks; rear monoshock, and petal disc brakes. Expect ABS as an option. The upcoming motorcycle should be priced below INR 2 lakhs, ex-showroom. It will rival the KTM RC 390 in its price bracket.
