Following a report confirming the arrival of a facelifted Honda HR-V in Australia next year, Indonesian 'digimod' artist Adrians Ramadhani has created a rendering that incorporates some of the changes we expect for the new compact SUV.
For the rendering, Adrians has borrowed cues from the new Honda CR-V as well as integrated a few unique elements. The changes expected include full-LED headlights with bolder DRLs, restyled grille with a bolder chrome embellisher, sportier front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and updated taillamp graphics.
Details on the changes inside are not reported, but we reckon Honda could update the trim, seat upholstery and equipment onboard.
The refreshed HR-V will most likely retain the 1.8L four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine paired with a CVT, which produces 141 PS (139 bhp) at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm of torque. Currently exclusive to the Japanese market, Honda could also look at introducing the i-DCD hybrid variant in other markets along with the facelifted model, like they did with the Jazz facelift in Malaysia. Exclusively for the Chinese market, Honda is working on a pure electric version of the HR-V for an early 2018 release.
A launch in India is still not on the cards due to the high production cost, despite Honda receiving many requests from customers close to the brand.
