Some of the changes we expect to come in the facelifted version include full-LED headlights with bolder DRLs, new grille, etc.

Mr Collins was quoted saying:

We’ve been very happy, despite lots of new entrants coming in. There’s more coming, of course, so we need to keep it fresh and we need to keep working on that, We’ve got an upgrade coming in the not-too-distant future, and the normal cycle would be that maybe next year we would have a minor cycle change – styling and so forth, which fits into the normal life-cycle.

As far as minor updates are concerned, CarAdvice reports that it could feature a new infotainment system with satellite navigation as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and could include features like make the City-Brake Active System, Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) – which included Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and High-Beam Support System – as standard across the range.

Some of the changes we expect to come in the facelifted version include full-LED headlights with bolder DRLs (the current HR-V features optional low beam LEDs), a bolder grille with plenty of chrome, new alloy rims as well as sportier front and rear bumpers. Inside, Honda could slightly tweak the design, trim and upgrade the equipment onboard.

In most markets, the facelifted HR-V is likely to retain 1.8L four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine paired with a CVT, which belts out 141 PS (139 bhp) at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm of torque. Currently exclusive to the Japanese market, Honda could also look at introducing the i-DCD hybrid variant in other markets along with the facelifted model.

In China, Honda is working on a pure electric version of the HR-V for an early 2018 release.
