To launch for sale on May 16, 2017.
Bookings for the 2017 Maruti Dzire are now officially open across all dealerships for a minimum amount of INR 11,000. Unlike the Maruti Ignis or Maruti Baleno, the new Dzire will be sold through Maruti's regular chain of dealerships.
The new Dzire will come in both petrol and diesel variants spread across four grades: L, V, Z and Z+. While the Swift Dzire is priced between INR 5,35,483 and INR 8,57,534 (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Dzire is expected to be 50k-70k higher, but still competitive against rivals Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and VW Ameo.
The new Dzire was unveiled last Monday to the media ahead of its launch on May 16, 2017. It drops the Swift nameplate to further distance it from the Swift hatchback. The compact sedan measures 3,995 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, 1,515 mm high and has a ground clearance of 163 mm. It is based on Suzuki's 5th gen HEARTECT platform, and is now up to 105 kg lighter than the Swift Dzire, whilst not compromising on rigidity.
At launch, the new Dzire can be had with a 1.2L K12B petrol motor producing 84 hp and 115 Nm of torque, or the 1.3L DDiS turbodiesel motor with 75 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines can be had with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, even in the top-end ZXI+ and ZDI+.
Expect fuel efficiency to cross the 26.59 km/l and 20.85 km/l mileage figures of the outgoing car's diesel and petrol versions.
