ASEAN spec Toyota Yaris-based sedan set for a mid-life change.
Last month it was reported that the facelifted Toyota Vios will be launched in Thailand this year. According to a new report from Autodeft, the 2017 Toyota Vios will go official in the country on 23 January.
It isn't known what visual changes the Thai-spec 2017 Toyota Vios will have, but much can be figured out from the updates given to the Chinese-spec Toyota Vios with the facelift last year. However, the changes may not be completely identical to the Chinese-spec version which features new projector headlights, redesigned upper grille, Camry-inspired hexagonal lower grille, vertical LED daytime running lights, new alloy wheels, tweaked tail lights and restyled rear bumper.
The Thai-spec 2017 Toyota Vios is being speculated to receive changes to the instrument cluster, HVAC vents and infotainment system with the interior adopting a black theme. The J and E trim levels will have fabric upholstery, the G trim level will have a padded dashboard and the range-topping S trim level will have leather upholstery. The G and S trim levels will be equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a reversing camera.

The 2017 Toyota Vios will be powered by the 2NR-FBE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that produces 108 hp at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. A 7-speed continuously variable transmission will be standard.
While the Vios is all but officially confirmed for India, the version or generation that TKM will launch in the country remains a mystery.
