Will continue with the 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine in ASEAN markets.
Ahead of its launch on January 12, Headlight Mag has acquired new details as well as the variant list of the 2017 Honda City (facelift). So far, Honda Thailand has put up a micro site and released a few teaser images of the new mid-size sedan.
The 2017 Honda City will come in four grades: S, V, V+, SV. The model teased by Honda is the top-end City SV, which exclusively features LED headlamps with LED DRLs and new 16-inch alloy wheels with diamond cut finish. The changes shared with rest of the grades include bold chrome garnish on the grille, re-designed front bumper and new fog lamp enclosures. It also gets a Cosmic Blue Metallic exterior color from the new Honda Civic.
Like the current Honda City, the interior will be all-black with silver inserts. As for engine lineup, the Thai-spec City will continue with the 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine, although it doesn't get a 6-speed manual transmission like the Honda BR-V. Instead the base 'S' model retains the 5-speed manual, while a CVT is optional in 'S' and standard in rest of the grades.
The 2017 Honda City will also launch in India in the same month, reportedly. Along with the 1.5 petrol option, it will retain the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel motor with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
