A successor for the Honda Fit Twist in South America.

According to a report on Autocar India, Honda Cars India will launch the Honda WR-V in March 2017. The WR-V is a crossover based on the Honda Jazz, and will world premiere at the 2016 São Paulo International Motor Show, which will take place between 10 and 20 November 2016. Honda released a sketch of the WR-V yesterday.

The Honda WR-V will inherit its engines from the Honda Jazz.

The sketch shows a butch styling on the Jazz platform, with the WR-V getting newly-designed headlights, grille, bumpers and skid plates. However, the design of the doors and windows are identical to the Jazz though the rear is expected to get a redesign with new taillights and a skid plate. The Honda WR-V is the work of the Research and Development team at Honda Cars in Brazil.

Underneath, the WR-V will be identical to the Honda Jazz, save for maybe a retuned suspension with higher ground clearance, as seen in spyshots.

The Honda WR-V will borrow its interior and feature set from the Jazz.

Codenamed Honda 2FM, the pseudo-crossover will use the 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine and the 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine seen on the Jazz. The petrol will get a CVT and manual gearbox, whereas the diesel will be available only with a 6-speed manual transmission.
