Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Guhan, has snapped these images of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner at a dealership, ahead of its launch on November 7. Dealers of Toyota Kirloskar Motor have started accepting bookings for the 2016 Fortuner for INR 2 lakhs, and say that deliveries start from next month.
The White 2016 Fortuner seen in these images sports the numeral '4' on its bootlid, suggesting that it could be powered by the 2.4-liter GD diesel engine which makes 149 PS and 343 Nm of torque. This engine option would be available only with a manual gearbox on the Fortuner.
Toyota will also offer a 2.8-liter GD diesel engine that produces 174 PS and 360 Nm of torque, which will be paired to a 6-speed automatic, with the optional availability of a 4WD system. Aside from these diesel engines, a petrol option with a 2.7-liter VVT-i unit with manual and automatic gearboxes is also expected.

The 2016 Fortuner will be equipped with features such as LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing camera.
