Compared to the outgoing model, the 2016 Fortuner is 90 mm longer and 15 mm wider, but 15 mm shorter in height.

Like the Innova Crysta, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be equipped with features such as LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing camera.

The 2016 Toyota Fortuner’s engine lineup will be sourced from the Toyota Innova Crysta, which includes the 2.4-liter GD diesel engine with 149 PS and 343 Nm of torque and a 2.8-liter GD diesel engine that produces 174 PS and 360 Nm of torque. The torque figures could be slightly more in the 2016 Fortuner though.

Like the Innova Crysta, expect the Fortuner to be generously equipped with features such as 7-inch infotainment system with navigation, power adjustable seats, power tailgate, etc.

Also, Toyota would include the 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol engine which was recently introduced on the Innova due to the uncertainty of large diesel engine cars in Delhi-NCR (at present, cars with diesel engines larger than 2,000 cc need to pay an additional 1 percent cess). Transmission options will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, while a 4WD system will be offered in the top-end grades.
