Launches on November 7.
Ahead of its market launch on November 7, dealers of Toyota Kirloskar Motor have started accepting bookings for the 2016 Toyota Fortuner for a sum of INR 2 lakhs. At the time of publishing this story, an email sent to Toyota Kirloskar Motor to confirm if the company had initiated bookings, or if this was being done at the dealer level, was not replied to.
Two dealers informed Indian Autos Blog that deliveries will start in November, and that petrol and diesel options will be available. However, initially, the petrol variant will be earmarked only for Delhi-NCR, the dealers said.
Like the Toyota Innova Crysta, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be equipped with features such as LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing camera.
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner's engine lineup will be sourced from the Toyota Innova Crysta, and includes the 2.4-liter GD diesel engine with 149 PS and 343 Nm of torque and a 2.8-liter GD diesel engine that produces 174 PS and 360 Nm of torque.

The petrol engine will be the 2.7-liter four-cylinder which was recently introduced on the Innova. Transmission options will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, while a 4WD system will be offered in the top-end grades.
