Will launch in November 2016.
According to a report on MotorBeam, the Bajaj Pulsar VS400 will be established under an all-new brand, the Bajaj Kratos. The motorcycle will be called the Bajaj Kratos VS400, wherein VS stands for Vantage Sport.
Kratos is the Greek God of war and it is the personification of strength, might, sovereign rule and authority in all its forms, the report states. Rumors about Bajaj ditching the 'Pulsar' nameplate for this motorcycle started earlier this month, and was confirmed in a recent interview by Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, who said that a 400 cc Pulsar makes as much sense as a 150 cc Royal Enfield. He was referring to the establishment of a new brand to take on Royal Enfield in the mid-size motorcycle category.
The Bajaj Kratos VS400 will, as reported earlier, borrow its powertrain from the KTM Duke 390. The 373.27 cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine, with Bajaj’s DTS-i technology will reportedly develop 34.50 hp on the Kratos VS400, and will come equipped with a 6-speed transmission and a slipper-clutch.

The Bajaj Kratos VS400, being the most powerful and expensive Bajaj motorcycle ever made, will come with dual-channel ABS, dual digital instrument clusters, LED elements in the headlight cluster and front and back disc brake. It is estimated to cost around INR 1.6-1.7 lakhs, ex-Showroom, and is confirmed to launch in November 2016.
