Through a digital unveil, Hyundai revealed the 2017 Hyundai i30 last week. Here’s a pictorial comparison between the 2017 Hyundai i30 and the 2015 Hyundai i30.
The Hyundai i30 has evolved to look more mature, has grown by 40 mm in length and 15 mm in width, and sits 20 mm lower. The new Cascading Grille debuting in the 2017 Hyundai i30 will become the family identity for future Hyundai models. Like the exterior, the interior has been completely redesigned. Everything starting from the door panel to the dashboard, instrument panel, steering wheel, centre console and the gearshift tunnel, is new.
Key features of the 2017 Hyundai i30 are three-projector LED headlamps, vertical LED daytime running lights with indicator function, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, panoramic glass sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility, heating and cooling function for the front seats, power driver’s seat with memory function and a ski hatch in the rear centre seat.
The third-gen Hyundai i30 is based on the sixth-gen Hyundai Elantra‘s platform. 120 PS Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDI turbocharged three-cylinder petrol, 100 PS Kappa 1.4-litre MPI naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol, 140 PS Kappa 1.4-litre T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder engine petrol and U 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel will be the engines available in Europe. The latter will be available in three outputs: 95 PS, 110 PS and 136 PS. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch.
