Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched the 2016 Hyundai Elantra for sale from today. It is available in both petrol and diesel variants spread across three trim levels: S, SX, SX(O).

The Elantra petrol variant is powered by a bigger 2.0L MPI four cylinder engine producing 152 PS and 19.5 kgm, which can be paired to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic (torque converter). The diesel variant packs a 1.6 CRDi engine with 128 PS and 26.5 kgm of torque. It is also available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
The new Elantra measures 4,570 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,465 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, making it 40 mm longer and 25 mm wider than the outgoing model. The design is influenced by Hyundai's latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, and is an evolutionary upgrade over the previous design.
Models from SX and above come equipped with features like projector headlamps, ‘boomerang’ LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy rims, LED taillights, shark fin antenna, parking sensors with reverse camera, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay support, satellite navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, anti-pinch sunroof and start/stop button.
