Yamaha R3's naked version hitting showrooms this Diwali according to a new report.
Following the debut of the Yamaha MT-25 in June 2015, Yamaha Motor further expanded its MT series of naked motorcycles with introduction of the Yamaha MT-03 at EICMA 2015. According to a report from ZigWheels, the Yamaha MT-03 will launch in India during the festive season (October-November) this year.
Yamaha was reportedly considering launching either the Yamaha MT-25 or the Yamaha MT-03 in India for its presence in the the sub-400 cc naked motorcycle space, but decided to go for the more powerful and globally focused one, just like it decided to bring in the Yamaha R3 instead of the Yamaha R25.
The Yamaha MT-03 measures 2,090 mm in length, 745 mm in width and 1,035 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,380 mm. It has a ground clearance of 160 mm and its seat height is 780 mm. The MT-03 sports the same 321 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that powers the R3. It produces 30.9 kW (42 PS) at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm, and sends drive via a 6-speed transmission.
