Both directly derived from super sport models.
Yamaha has unveiled the MT-03 and the MT-10 street fighters at the 2015 EICMA in Milan, today.
It is simply the naked version of the Yamaha R3. It has an upright riding stance, a single headlamp assembly, a digital analog instrument console, fuel tank-mounted shrouds with air intake, 298 mm front and 220 mm rear disc brakes with dual channel ABS, 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 and 140/70 section tyre at the front and rear respectively, and a different colour scheme compared to the R3.
The Yamaha MT-03 is powered by the same 321 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that is found on the R3. The output of 42 PS and 29.6 Nm is unchanged. The transmission system is a 6-speed unit.
The MT-03 will compete with the KTM Duke 390, Kawasaki Z300, Honda CBR300F and the upcoming BMW G310R. The model is expected to be introduced in India via the CKD route.

The MT-10 is the first model in the MT range (labelled FZ in the U.S.) to feature a four-cylinder engine. It is a direct street fighter derivative of the Yamaha YZF-R1 but with substantial changes to the Deltabox chassis and powertrain to make it an everyday machine. Its power and torque figures are not revealed yet, but the motorcycle is expected to pack more than 150 hp given the R1 has 165 hp in store. The MT-10’s wheelbase is reported to be around 1,400 mm.
The Ducati Monster 1200R rival is loaded with features such as three variable riding modes, a three-stage traction control system, a cruise control system that engages above 51.5 km/h (32 mph), a slipper clutch, a 43 mm fully-adjustable fork, a monoshock, a four-piston front brake caliper and ABS.
The model is said to be slated for launch in Europe in May 2016. It will be offered in three colours – Fluo Night, Tech Black and Blue Race.
