The Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in India in March as the company's new adventure tourer. According to a report from carandbike, the Himalayan is a big hit in Karnataka. Out of every four units sold in India, one is sold in Karnataka.
Royal Enfield has sold 4,000 units of the Royal Enfield Himalayan in the country so far, as per the report. This means that at least 1,000 units have been sold in Karnataka within less than half a year from the motorcycle's launch. Karnataka is also the second largest domestic market for the company in entirety. There are currently 48 Royal Enfield dealerships in Karnataka and this number is planned to be increased to 56 by the end of this fiscal year.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan measures 2,190 mm in length, 840 mm in width and 1,360 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,465 mm and a ground clearance of 220 mm. The seat height is measured at 800 mm.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a newly-developed 411 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 24.5 bhp (18.02 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The carbureted engine is paired to a 5-speed transmission. Other mechanical aspects worth noting are half-duplex split cradle frame, telescopic front suspension, monoshock rear suspension, 300 mm front disc brake, 240 mm rear disc brake, 21-inch front wheels 90/90-21 tubeless multipurpose tyre and 17-inch rear wheels shod with 120/90-17 tubeless multipurpose tyre.
