Hyundai plans to launch two new products every year.
The launch of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra will be followed up by the arrival of the all new 2016 Hyundai Tucson in the October-November period, according to Mr. YK Koo, managing director, Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
Hyundai plans to dominate the premium car category with the new Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Tucson, two of the company's major product launches for this year. Like the Elantra, the new Tucson will be assembled locally with CKD kits at good localization levels for competitive pricing. Reports estimate that the Tucson could be priced between INR 17-22 Lakhs.
The Tucson could be offered in both petrol and diesel guises. The petrol variant is likely to pack the 2.0L MPI four cylinder engine from the Elantra, which produces 152 PS and 195 Nm of torque. The diesel variant could pack a bigger a 2.0-liter (1,995 cc) CRDi engine available in power outputs of 136 PS and 184 PS. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic for both variants, while an AWD system could be optional in top-end models.

Some of the features expected in the new Tucson include 17-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, 10 way power-operated driver’s seat with ventilation, dual-zone climate control, HID headlights and LED taillights, anti-pinch sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen system with reverse camera and navigation, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, six airbags, keyless entry with push-button start and vehicle stability management.
