Could be the least expensive compact sedan in India.
From the same source that photographed a white, undisguised Tata Kite 5 compact sedan comes new images of its production-spec front-end and interior.
Tata's third sub-4m sedan will launch during the festive season, and could be the least expensive compact sedan in the Indian market, if priced along the lines of the model it's based on - the Tata Tiago. It shares its front-end with the Tiago, while the rear-end features a stubby boot, unique taillamps and a long LED strip as the third brake light.
The model spotted appears to be of the top-end grade, featuring chrome accents, body-colored ORVMs with turn indicators and alloy rims. Inside, the Kite 5 comes with a Harman touchscreen infotainment system and reverse parking camera, both of which are not offered in the Tiago. Otherwise, rest of the interior is largely identical to its hatchback sibling.
Like the Tiago, the Kite 5 will be available in petrol and diesel variants. The former is powered by an all new 1.2L three cylinder Revotron engine with 83 bhp/114 Nm of torque, while the latter packs a 1.05L Revotorq diesel engine producing 69 bhp/140Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual is the only confirmed transmission for the Kite 5, while a 5-speed AMT option is also in the cards.
