Based on the Toyota Agya.
Autonetmagz has created a rendering of the Toyota Calya MPV, based on spyshots of the model spotted undisguised more than a week ago. It will launch in the Indonesian market first, and is expected to be priced between 130-160 million IDR.
The Toyota Calya's exterior adopts a more aggressive design than the Agya's front-end, and seems to draw inspiration from the Toyota Veloz as well as 2016 Toyota Innova (Innova Crysta in India). It will slot between the Toyota Agya and Toyota Avanza, and sold as an LCGC. In Indonesian regulations, an LCGC should be manufactured in Indonesia at a high localization rate, and pack a petrol engine displacing between 980 cc – 1,200 cc.
Details on the engine are scarce, although reports suggest that it will be sourced from the Toyota Etios, which is a 1.2L petrol unit that produces 80 PS and 10.6 kgm (103.95 Nm). Transmission options could include 5-speed manual or automatic gearboxes.
Like the Avanza, Daihatsu is also looking to rebadge the Toyota Calya and sell it in their product range. Rumored to be called Daihatsu Sigra, the exterior styling is likely to be influenced by the Daihatsu UFC-3 Concept.
