The Tata Tiago was launched in India on 6 April, and so far, its order number was known to be 20,000 units.
Now, according a report from Car And Bike, the Tata Tiago has bagged 22,000 orders. Only 10,000 units were produced till earlier this week, and the report says that all 10,000 have been dispatched to dealerships. The Tiago is the second Tata after the Nano to have reached the 10,000 unit-production milestone in just two months.
The Tata Tiago is based on the X0 platform of the Tata Indica series. With inputs from the company's design centres in Coventry, Pune and Turin, the Tata Tiago (previously Tata Zica) is the Indian automaker's first model created using the new 'Impact' design language which will be seen in the near future on the Tata Nexon as well as the Tata Hexa.

The Tata Tiago is available with two engines: 1.2 Revotron and 1.05 Revotorq. The 1.2-litre Revotron engine is a three-cylinder petrol unit good for 85 PS (83.80 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 3,500 rpm, while the smaller, 1.05-litre Revotorq engine is a three-cylinder diesel unit that delivers 70 PS (69.01 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm at 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines feed power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
Prices of the Tata Tiago petrol and Tata Tiago diesel start at INR 3,20,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 3,94,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).
