Tata has received over 20,000 bookings for the Tiago.
The 10,000th Tata Tiago has rolled out of Tata Motor's Sanand plant, thus crossing a new milestone. Tata hopes to match the production with demand of the Tiago in the market, thus minimizing waiting periods.
The Tiago was launched at INR 3.2-4.75 lakhs for the petrol and INR 3.94-5.54 lakhs for the diesel (both ex-Showroom, New Delhi). Tata has already received over 20,000 bookings for the Tiago since it was launched on April 6, 2016. Apparently, 70-80 percent of the demand is for the Tiago petrol variant, according to Tata Motors managing director, Guenter Butschek.
The petrol variant is powered by an all new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron engine that produces 85 PS and 114 Nm, while the diesel variant packs a 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq engine with 70 PS and 140 Nm. Both are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol and diesel variants are capable of averaging an ARAI-certified fuel mileage of 23.84 km/L and 27.28 km/L, respectively.
