Deliveries to commence from July, reportedly.
Shifting Gears has posted a new spyshot of an undisguised VW Ameo testing ahead of its approaching launch. According to reports, it's expected to arrive in showrooms from July.
The Ameo is basically a sub-4m sedan version of the VW Polo, a first for the Volkswagen brand in India. It is based on the PQ25 platform that underpins the VW Polo hatchback. The exterior styling looks largely identical to the Polo, save for the boot and taillamps.
The compact sedan features a dual tone black and beige interior, silver trim on the centre console, multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, and a 6.5 inch Mirrorlink touchscreen infotainment system in top-end grades.

Engine lineup will comprise of an updated version of the 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine and 1.2-liter three-cylinder MPI petrol engine. The diesel engine is available with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox, whereas the petrol engine will feature a 5-speed manual.
