Bookings underway for Datsun's Alto 800-rival.
Datsun India has announced the fuel efficiency of the Datsun redi-GO ahead of its launch next month. Datsun's smallest and most affordable car will deliver 25.17 km/l, the carmaker has announced on its website.
The fuel efficiency figure of the Datsun redi-GO is exactly the same as the Renault Kwid (both cars are based on the CMF-A platform). This, despite the fact that the redi-GO is 25 kg lighter than the Kwid, and when launched, could be cheaper to buy as well.
The Datsun redi-GO is confirmed to get the 0.8-liter three-cylinder petrol engine used in the Kwid. However, Datsun has not announced power and torque figures of this unit yet. On the Renault, this engine develops 54 bhp and 72 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Where the Renault Kwid measures 3,679 mm in length, the redi-GO is slightly shorter at 3,430 mm. It has a best-in-class ground clearance of 185 mm. It has an approach angle of 26.8 degrees and departure angle of 58.6 degrees.
