Sold 5,563 units in the month of March.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza outsold the Ford Ecosport in its first month of sale. While Ford sold 4,456 units of the Ecosport in March, Maruti managed to push out 5,563 Vitara Brezzas in the same month.
The Vitara Brezza has already received well over 40,000 bookings since launch, and now has a waiting period of up to 5 months (depending on the grade). Priced from INR 6.99 Lakhs to 9.68 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), it's also great value for money, given the features and performance in store. In fact, Ford had to reduce the EcoSport's pricing to closely match that of the Vitara Brezza's.
The Vitara Brezza packs a 1.3-liter DDiS four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission which sends power to the front wheels. The Brezza is capable of a class-leading, ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l.

Unlike the Vitara Brezza though, the EcoSport is available with two petrol options: a 123 PS 1.0L EcoBoost and a 112 PS 1.5-liter Ti-VCT engine. Apart from a 5-speed manual gearbox, the latter engine is available with a 6-speed DCT gearbox. Then there's the 1.5-liter TDCi engine, which outputs 100 PS and is capable of an ARAI-certified mileage of 22.27 km/L.
