Rumored to launch in March 2016.
VW is expected to launch the top-end Polo GTI in March 2016. A Polo GTI was caught testing by IAB readers Abhinav Jaggi and Anshul Singh.
The Polo GTI will be India's most powerful hot-hatch when launched. It's powered by a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder TSI from the VW Group’s EA888 engine family, which generates 187 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The model sold in other markets is offered with a choice between a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic unit.
Compared to the regular Polo, the GTI grade comes with LED headlights with DRLs, honeycomb grille with GTI badging, sportier front bumper with bigger air intake, red brake calipers, dark red taillight cluster, side skirts, diffuser, rear spoiler and exposed twin exhaust tips. The interior features sport seats with part tartan upholstery, new steering wheel, contrast red stitching and aluminium pedals.
