Zica will launch this financial year.
In addition to new models in its SUV/compact SUV portfolio, Tata Motors will also showcase new passenger cars at the Auto Expo 2016. The car maker confirmed that the "new sporty compact sedan" codenamed Tata Kite 5 will mark its debut at the biennial event.
The Tata Kite 5 sedan is essentially a compact sedan based on the Tata Zica. The compact sedan will slot below the Tata Zest in the car maker's lineup, and will borrow engines and technologies from the Zica, which is expected to launch this financial year.
The engines in question will include the all-new, all-aluminium 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine and the 1.05-liter three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine, paired to 5-speed manual transmissions.
The Tata Bolt Sport is likely to be the same car which was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show last year. The show car featured the 1.2-liter four-cylinder Revotron turbocharged engine with 120 hp and 170 Nm of torque. Aside from the improved engine, the Bolt Sport was decked with 17-inch alloy wheels, a body kit, wider tyres and interior customization options.
