Both models are part of the company's 12 launches planned for 2016.
Mercedes-Benz India stated in a press release today that it will showcase two highlight products at the Auto Expo 2016. The Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Mercedes S Class Cabriolet will have their Indian premieres at the biennial event scheduled to start on February 3, 2016 for the media.
Both products will be launched in India later in the year, with reports stating that the GLC will be introduced in mid-2016. The C Class-based SUV will fill a gap between the Mercedes GLA and the GLE, and will rival products such as the Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
The GLC is expected to be powered by the 2.0-liter petrol engine and the 2.1-liter diesel engine paired to the 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The top-end variants are expected with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
The Mercedes S Class Cabriolet had its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September last year. It'll complement the Mercedes S Class S500 Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe which were launched in India in July 2015. Like the S Class Coupe models, the S Class Cabrio will be imported through the CBU route.
