To be launched only with a diesel engine initially.
All variants of the Maruti Vitara Brezza will get a driver-airbag as standard, while the top-end Z variants will offer dual front airbags, ABS and EBD as standard. However, on the base L and mid V variants, Maruti will offer buyers an optional safety pack that adds a front passenger airbag, ABS and EBD.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is expected to go on sale in March 2016, post its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 next week. According to a report, the Vitara Brezza will initially be available only with a diesel engine for the Indian market. The engine in question is the 1.3-liter DDiS four-cylinder Fiat-borrowed engine. It could be offered in a specification of 75PS/190Nm or 90PS/200Nm, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Vitara Brezza, the first Maruti-Suzuki product engineered and validated by Maruti in India, will also be exported to markets in Middle East, Africa and Latin America. In the Indian market, it will rival the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 primarily.

Sales of the Vitara Brezza will take place through Maruti's regular channel of dealerships, which also sell cars from the Alto to the Ciaz. The NEXA outlets, which sell the Maruti Baleno and Maruti S-Cross exclusively will not retail the Vitara Brezza.
